Church Administrator and Bookkeeper

 

St Mary’s Parish Church Heacham is looking for a friendly and diligent Church Administrator/Bookkeeper to help with the smooth running of our office.

This position is ideal for someone who likes working with both people and information. Our preferred candidate will be personable and courteous and relish the challenge of keeping a busy office organised and efficient, whilst being sympathetic to the Christian ethos and supportive of the Church’s Mission and Vision.

Weekly duties will comprise of providing effective and efficient administrative support to the Church, and you will be responsible to Reverend Veronica Wilson.  You will need to be a proficient communicator with the ability to work independently on a wide range of tasks, be open to learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities. 

This is a permanent, flexible/hybrid working position for 12 hours a week with the opportunity of working from home or in the Church Office as required.

The successful candidate will be subject to a 6-month probation period and will be required to agree to an enhanced DBS check and complete Data Protection and confidentiality forms.  You will also be required to complete appropriate safeguarding training as required

Heacham Carnival 4th August 2024 It has been agreed by the Parish Council that Heacham Parish Church Coronation Bell is the charity that money collected is going to So we need lots of volunteers to walk with buckets (or whizz in mobility scooters!) collecting money as part of the parade. Please let one of the wardens know if you can do this - the more the merrier!

 

Are you creative and good at designing and making displays? We need someone or a small team to put together the many photos of the building of the cupola and the casting of the bell, for a display in the chancel for the September celebrations and to be in church for some time afterwards, with photos added of that event too. Please let Veronica know if you would like to be involved?

 

June Harvey  With great sadness, the family of June Harvey formerly of School Road Heacham announces that June died peacefully at Eckling Grange on 10 July with her family at her bedside.  June lived in Heacham from 1995-2007 with her husband Nigel and was an active member of the St Mary's Church family serving the Sunday School and Heacham Coffee Shop.  There will be a Thanksgiving Service followed by an Afternoon Buffet Tea at Letton Hall,  Shipdham on Friday 2nd August from 1.30pm.  If you knew June and would like to attend please contact June's son-in-law Steve Bushby on 07760 451755.

Church opening and Locking We are looking for another volunteer or volunteers to open the church on a Saturday morning, and close it each evening. Please talk to one of the wardens if you can do this

 

Morning Prayer - Monday to Friday, at 9am

Morning Prayer follows Morning Prayer from the Northumbrian Community Celtic Prayer 

It takes place on Zoom on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am. On Tuesday and Thursday morning Celtic Prayer will be in Church, in the Chancel, at 9am.  Everyone welcome : contact Andrew Pearson (apearson@adap.co.uk)
